For those who have been waiting for developer Frozenbyte’s co-op blast-’em-up, Nine Parchments, the wait might just be getting a bit easier. In a press email, Frozenbyte has announced that a demo of Nine Parchments is now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop in the U.S. and Europe, and will be coming soon to the Japanese eShop.
Here’s, in part, what Frozenbyte had to say on the demo’s release:
“Co-op enthusiasts can enjoy the demo with up to four players in local co-op and try out the one Joy-Con mode as well. The demo includes three levels in total: The tutorial at the Astral Academy, a shimmering beach level, and a boss fight against a gigantic Treasure Mantis!
In the demo, online co-op and and access to features such as additional spells and the skill point system have been disabled. These will be supported in the full release.”
The game is currently in the certification process on all consoles, and Frozenbyte hopes to announce a release date soon. Originally announced back in May, Nine Parchments is a cooperative dungeon crawler, much in the vein of the Diablo series, where the player uses magic to blast away foes. You may remember Frozenbyte as responsible for the acclaimed Trine series as well.
