New ‘Breath of the Wild’ Patch Adds Multi-Language Audio

Impressionnant! A new patch for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is out now for both Nintendo Switch and Wii U. The game now supports nine audio languages, including Japanese, English, French (France), French (Canada), German, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Italian and Russian.

The feature will work automatically on Switch; Wii U players will have to download a Voice Pack from the Nintendo eShop for this patch to function properly.

I think this is a great (albeit late) addition to the game. One would think that Nintendo would have finished localizing the game for all territories prior to release, but who knows what issues arose—perhaps this was one of the sacrifices made to get the game out by its March 3 launch date. Either way, it’s great to see a voiced Zelda title in multiple languages so that everyone can enjoy this veritable masterpiece.

Will you be taking advantage of any of the new language options? Let us know by leaving a reply!
