Time to don our tin foil hats, folks. According to a post on Reddit (and now being reported on elsewhere), some Switch owners are now coming forward, claiming that their consoles are bending and warping from the heat of being in docked mode.
Redditor _NSR posted a picture of a top-down view of his or her Switch unit held up to a tablet case for comparison:
Once this post made the Internet rounds, more users have come forward with similar assertions:

Does this mean all Switch units will warp after being left in docked mode for a long period? No. I’ve used my Switch almost exclusively in docked mode and mine is still in pristine form, nor did I experience any of the left Joy-Con desyncing issues. It all comes down to a small, yet vocal, minority of users experiencing these issues. Is this still a problem? Absolutely. Even a small number of consoles out in the wild experiencing any of these issues is a blight on Nintendo’s reputation as a hardware maker. While these issues must be accounted for, they by no means spell Nintendo’s doom. However, as one Redditor pointed out, perhaps “3rd party docks with fans are gonna become the norm.”
