And the Switch gets more third-party love! Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Revelations Collection will release on Nintendo Switch later this year. The collection will include both Resident Evil: Revelations and Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which both originally debuted back in 2012 and 2015, respectively. The first game originated on Nintendo 3DS, while the sequel released on multiple platforms, excluding Nintendo systems. Resident Evil Revelations Collection will run at 1080p and at an increased frame rate over its previous releases.
All previously released DLC will be included in the collection, and Raid Mode will be making its return in Revelations 2, supporting both solo play and online co-op. No word yet on whether or not local co-op will be a part of this release—which would be great (and a no-brainer, given the Switch ships with two Joy-Cons).
Perhaps the most interesting part of this announcement is that the physical version of Resident Evil Revelations Collection will come with a cartridge for Resident Evil Revelations only, while Revelations 2 will be packed in as a digital download code. The physical collection will retail at $39.99, while both games will be available on the Switch eShop for $19.99 each. I’m not sure why this decision was made, but it’ll certainly tank any trade-in values for those who like to swap games out after beating them.
