A wild Lycanroc appeared! The Pokémon Company has announced a new Lycanroc form—Dusk Form—that is set to appear in the upcoming 3DS titles, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. Not much is known about the new form, aside from that it cannot be obtained “by ordinary methods, such as discovering the mysterious Pokémon in the wild.” Aesthetically, the new form seems to more closely resemble Lycanroc’s Midday Form, albeit with an orange color as opposed to the Midday Form’s white, while Lycanroc’s Midnight Form is bipedal with a red color.
Though not competitively viable, Lycanroc is one of my favorite Gen 7 additions in terms of Pokémon—Midnight Form Lycanroc was an integral part of my playthrough team in Sun, so I can’t wait to see what’s different about the Dusk Form and how it changes things up from the other forms.
Originally announced back in June, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are the next installments in the Pokémon franchise, and will take place on Alola and feature an alternate storyline than that of the original Sun and Moon titles. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are slated to launch later this year on November 17.
