Square Enix Vet Teases New Project for Nintendo Switch

It seems Square Enix is keenly eyeing the Nintendo Switch. Earlier, we reported that Square Enix will be focusing more heavily on the Nintendo Switch this generation, and now a new tease by a Square Enix executive seems to lead credence to this.

According to a tweet from seasoned Square Enix developer Takashi Tokita (via Nintendo Life), Tokita-san is working on a “top-secret mission”:

For those unfamiliar, Tokita-san was the director for Chrono Trigger on the SNES, and has worked on other such games as Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call, I Am Setsuna, and Parasite Eve. He has also lent a notable hand to many of Final Fantasy mobile remakes.

Square Enix already has an active presence on Switch, having already released I Am Setsuna and the forthcoming Project Octopath Traveler slated for release, so it’s no surprise that the developer juggernaut has another project up its sleeve. What are you hoping to see from Square Enix on Switch? Do you have any ideas as to what this project could be? Let us know by leaving a reply!
