‘Yooka-Laylee’ Project Update: Switch Version on Its Way; Free Backer-Exclusive Content Planned

It’s almost here! In its most recent project update email to Kickstarter backers, Playtonic Games has given an update on its upcoming 3D Platformer, Yooka-Laylee, set to release on April 11. Here, in part, is the update provided from the developer:

“Today, the Playtonic team continues to work on updates that will further improve the performance of the game, and early birds should expect to see the first game update from today. Once release is out of the way, we’ll start planning a DLC add-on created exclusively free for our Kickstarter backers. We’re also working closely with Nintendo to bring the Switch version of Yooka-Laylee to Nintendo fans as soon as possible.”

That’s right: not only is Playtonic Games hard at work in bringing the Switch version to market, but they are also planning free backer-exclusive DLC to come, yet another incentive for backers of the so-called “Rare-vival.” The update also mentions that physical copies of the game are being dispatched to backers as early as today, with digital codes planned to be sent out next week for backers to pre-load the game ahead of its official launch on April 11.

Are you excited to finally have Yooka-Laylee in your hands (literally or figuratively)? Let us know by leaving a reply!
