The Latest ‘Breath of the Wild’ Update Appears To Improve Frame Rate

Your Breath of the Wild experience may have just gotten smoother. According to IGN, the Version 1.1.1 update that was released yesterday seems to improve performance, mainly in the area of frame rate, both on Wii U and Switch (both handheld and docked).

Upon the game’s release, the main criticism of the otherwise widely-acclaimed title was the dips in frame rate with areas containing multiple enemies or with many particle effects, particularly in docked mode. Multiple IGN staffers are claiming that the recent update somewhat alleviates this, however the patch doesn’t seem to have removed all performance drops entirely.

I haven’t personally played since yesterday’s update, so I cannot comment on my personal findings just yet. Have you played since the patch? Did you notice any performance improvements? Let us know by leaving a reply!
