‘Pokémon Ultra Sun’ and ‘Pokémon Ultra Moon’ Coming to 3DS on November 17

I…didn’t see this one coming. During the most recent Pokémon Direct, two new games were announced for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems: Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. Not much is yet known about the titles, other than that the games take place in the Alola region and feature an alternate storyline than we saw in the original Sun and Moon. Additionally, new Pokémon not in the original games will be featured in the new titles. The games will release globally on November 17, 2017.

This announcement certainly came out of left field for me, as I thought we’d be seeing a third game for the sixth generation; instead, it appears Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are taking the Black 2/White 2 route this generation.
