Stealth release! Today, Frozenbyte announced that its next content update for Nine Parchments, called Astral Challenges, is available today on Nintendo Switch. The update is free for anyone who already owns the game.
Here’s a rundown of the update’s features:
- Six new Arena levels, designed for characters at level 40+
- A new unlockable character, Selius, in addition to new hats, staves, and spells
- A brand-new Quick Chat feature
The bulk of the update is the Astral Challenge Arenas, where your character is granted five spells and must defeat waves upon waves of enemies. Each of the six arenas is more difficult than the last, and the final arena spawns endless waves of enemies until the player is defeated. The Astral Challenge also has online leaderboards.
I think this is an excellent addition to an already great game. Nine Parchments has seen numerous improvements since we initially reviewed it, and this free update only sweetens the deal.
