Earlier this week, rumors were circulating about a potential Mario-themed cereal hitting store shelves that would feature some kind of amiibo functionality within Super Mario Odyssey. Well, Nintendo themselves have finally chimed in and confirmed the cereal’s existence.

First reported on by Cerealously (which is awesome in and of itself that there’s a cereal enthusiast site out there), the team-up between Nintendo and Kellogg’s features an oat-and-marshmallow cereal, with the oat pieces shaped like stars, and the marshmallow pieces shaped as “power-up” items from the series. The cereal supposedly packs in a mixed berry flavor.

Here’s what Nintendo of America’s Senior VP of Strategic Initiatives, Tom Prata, had to say:

“This powered-up partnership with Kellogg’s is another exciting way for us to expand the Nintendo brand in unique and creative ways. We are always looking for new opportunities to bring smiles to people of all ages, and this is a fun way to kick off the day.”

As if the cereal’s existence weren’t cool enough, the box will also function as an amiibo within Super Mario Odyssey, as shown by the Odyssey airship on the box. Tapping the “boxmiibo” (mine) will net Mario some extra coins or hearts in the game.

Super Mario Cereal will be hitting store shelves as early as December 11. Check out the full front box image scan below.
