‘Ice Age: Scrat’s Nutty Adventure’ Coming to Nintendo Switch This Fall

Ice Age is perhaps one of the longest-running kids’ movie series around—with the inception of the series dating back to 2002. Running on that 17 years of nostalgia and franchise recognition, Outright Games has announced Ice Age: Scrat’s Nutty Adventure, a 3D platformer coming to Nintendo Switch later this fall.

In the game, players will take command of Scrat, the franchise’s sabre-toothed squirrel on an epic quest to recover his prized acorn from the ancient Scratazon Temple. To do this, Scrat must collect Crystal Nuts throughout several iconic Ice Age locations, including icy tundra, spouting geysers, and molten lavascapes. Various treasures along the way will enhance Scrat’s abilities to jump higher and grab heavier objects on his calamitous quest.

I’ve long been a fan of the Ice Age movies, so a 3D platformer surrounding Scrat’s quest for his acorn—the shorts of which (shown prior to each Ice Age movie) are a personal favorite of mine—appears right up my alley. Be sure to check out the pre-alpha screenshots and box art in the gallery below, and stay tuned for more information on this title in the future.
