Game Freak Is Hiring For a Console Game

Game Freak, the developer of the main Pokémon series, has released several job postings for a console game. Reported by Siliconera and corroborated by IGN, one such listing asks for a 3D CG designer to work on “characters, monsters, and items” for “a title that everyone knows.”

Could this be the rumored Pokémon Stars we’ve been waiting for?

A second job listing calls for a designer with experience creating 3D models at the “Wii U/PS Vita-level.” The ads specifically mention this is for a console game—that, coupled with the fact that the CEO of The Pokémon Company said that it would be publishing games for Nintendo Switch, is a fairly sizable indication that we may have at least some kind of Pokémon game on the way to Switch.

What do you think of this news? Do you think it hints at a Pokémon Stars-level game, or do you think it’s simply a spinoff? Let us know by leaving a reply!
